Until We Meet Again is conceived in response to the architectural design of the domed ceiling of the historic YMCA building, and draws the viewer’s gaze skyward, Until We Meet Again encourages visitors to envision a greater future full of possibility and potential. The new kaleidoscopic patterns are built from several detail images from Cave’s newest bodies of work, including Soundsuits created in the wake of George Floyd’s death—each ceiling quadrant is unique—the installation reflects and connects to past works that address current issues and challenges while also expressing hope and joy and collective celebration—a full-spectrum of the experiences and emotions that we both share and carry with us as individuals, Until We Meet Again.
